A Symposium on ‘Smart Medical Systems and Enabling Technologies (SMS-ET)

Bioinformatics and communication technologies extend the conventional medical hospitals into a virtual reality where patients are connected to ubiquitous services offered over the internet. The enabling technologies comprise of multiple disciplines that include biomedical sensors, data acquisition, signal conditioning, wired, optical and wireless data transport mechanisms. The SMS-ET session will include various workshops and will cover a broad field of sensor data acquisition, signal processing, data communications and data visualization, as well as contributed papers followed by a panel discussion at the end of session. The topics will cover Data acquisition and physiological sensing, Smart medical systems for ubiquitous e-healthcare and so on.

These topics should be discussed in terms of research findings, concepts, state-of-the-art, standards, implementations, developments, field trials/experiments, educational goals, and new applications. Submitted or substantially similar papers must not be under review currently for any other publication.

- Collaborative e-Healthcare Service Architectures
- Healthcare Cloud for Homecare
- Smart e-Healthcare systems
- Privacy and security issues in smart medical systems
- Self-managing patient systems
- Wearable biomedical systems
- Tele-rehabilitation and medical guidance
- Proactive health management in a smart city

Received papers will be peer reviewed using “IEEE standards and criteria.” Authors should note that only the accepted and presented papers will be eligible for final proceedings. Papers accepted but not presented will be omitted from publications on IEEE Xplore. TPC reserves the right to reject any paper at any stage that is found to be plagiarized or not following the guidelines.

Paper submissions will be handled via EDAS. See Author Instructions for more details on submission.
